"Vanitas with Crumpled Bag": A Garabaggio Framed Print
Description
Oil on digital canvas, 2026. Post-Consumer Baroque series.
September 7th, 12:05 AM. The bag was standing on its own. I need the viewer to understand this. No one had propped it up. The wind had not arranged it. It simply stood, creased and torn at the mouth, presiding over the can and the bottle the way a patriarch presides over a household that has already fallen apart. Pieter Claesz painted overturned goblets and half-peeled lemons to remind the Dutch merchant class that all pleasures end. I paint crumpled bags and drained cans to remind everyone else. The composition required nothing from me. I merely recorded what the sidewalk had already composed.
