"The Binding with Blue Cord": A Garabaggio Fine Art Print
Description
Oil on digital canvas, 2026. Post-Consumer Baroque series.
May 31st, 5:15 AM. Somebody in the building had repaired it. I want it on the record that I did not do this, because I was accused of it later, and the accusation was flattering and false. Somebody had taken a heated nail or a drill bit to the cracked end of the basket, punched five holes down either side of the split, and laced it shut with blue polypropylene cord, the kind sold by the meter at hardware stores for tying things to roof racks. Five crossings. A corset. The lacing pulls the two halves of the split closed and holds them there under a tension you can see in the paint, because I painted the cord tighter than the plastic wanted to be.
