"Drapery on the Fence": A Garabaggio Fine Art Print
Description
Oil on digital canvas, 2026. Post-Consumer Baroque series.
Sixty-one feet of chain-link runs along the north edge of the gravel yard on Dunnery Street, and on November 21st, at 3:05 in the afternoon, I dressed all of it. The panels were lashed through their grommets with white line, one knot to each grommet, thirty-one knots in total, and the fence took them the way a wall takes a hanging. This is the second station. The material has been given a job now. It is screening something. It does not know what, and neither do I; there is nothing behind that fence except more gravel and a puddle that has been in the same place since the first day I came to the yard. The viewer's eye will go, I hope, to the one corner at the left that has peeled back on itself, because a curtain that is entirely closed is only a wall. That corner is the whole argument. The tan patch is on the panel at the right, hung deliberately at eye height so that it reads as a seal on a document. It is not a flaw in the material. It is the only part of any of this I made with my hands.
